We are a New York City based studio focused on interior and architectural design, art and objects.

      The studio is led by Rachel Rockford, a multidisciplinary designer with a background in architecture, interiors, and product design. Rachel is fueled by the belief that design can create meaningful connections to history, nature, community, and beyond. With each project, we forge those connections by studying and thoughtfully incorporating local materials, craft traditions, and native ecosystems. We let the rhythms of people and place be our guides.

     Studio Forte was named as a nod to Rachel’s many family members who arrived on the shores of New York City in the 20th century with little other than a good life in mind. Some came as Roccofortes, and would later become Rockfords. Rachel is steered by the resolution with which her family arrived to connect and create.
